MICROCERATOPS (my-kro-SAYR-ah-tops) "Tiny Horned Face" (Greek mikros = tiny, small + keratops = horned face, referring to its overall SIZE)
A primitive PROTOCERATOPSIAN of the Late Cretaceous Mongolia. This tiny plant eater was only 30 inches (76 cm) long. It was closely related to PROTOCERATOPS and had a horny beak and a small FRILL. It may have run on its two long, slender hind legs but probably grazed on all fours. It is known from moderately well preserved remains.
