A very early Middle Jurassic Sauropod from England, Europe and Africa. It was the first giant four legged plant eating Saurischian discovered. It resembled its relative Camarasaurus, but its vertebrae were spongy instead of hollow as were those of later sauropods. It was 45 feet (13.7m) long and weighed about 10 tons (9 metric tons). It is known from a partial skeleton.
